How This Calculator Works
The True ECN Cost Analyzer calculates the total trading cost by combining the spread cost and commission:
Spread Cost = Spread (in pips) × Pip Value × Lot Size
Commission Cost = Commission Per Lot × Lot Size
Total Cost = Spread Cost + Commission Cost (both ways, entry and exit)
This gives you the true trading cost for a complete round-trip trade (open and close).
This ECN Cost Analyzer calculator allows you to:
- Input the spread in pips
- Input the commission per standard lot
- Specify your lot size
- Calculate the total effective cost per trade (round trip)
The calculator breaks down your trading costs into:
- Spread cost (spread × pip value × lot size)
- Commission cost (commission × lot size × 2 for round trip)
- Total combined cost
This gives you a clear picture of your actual trading costs when using an ECN broker. The calculator assumes a standard pip value of $10 per pip for a standard lot, which is typical for major forex pairs where USD is involved.
